Background
Healthcare organizations have many different software applications that need to share demographic, clinical and billing data between them. All this sharing is done with a data format protocol called Health Level 7 or more commonly HL7. HL7 is a hierarchical ASCII delimited data storage format. Reading this format is very tedious and time consuming. Lucent Glow has developed a tool that reduces the time spent counting delimiters, loading messages, etc., and allows the developer to focus on the accuracy of the data.
Solution
Ultimate HL7 is our answer to this problem; Ultimate HL7 is an interface developer's tool that allows for instant easy identification of Fields, Components, and Sub Components within an HL7 message. Ultimate HL7 has been architected to allow for easy integration into other popular healthcare applications so the messages can be easily loaded into the tool for analysis, editing and retransmitting. After two years of research and development time we have packaged all the features needed for efficient healthcare integration into one tool.
Unique
Ultimate HL7 is the only tool of its kind that supports a Plug-in architecture and a message routing/proxy feature:
Look and Feel
The user interface was designed for ease of use and efficiency. A developer might spend 2-3 minutes analyzing each message with a traditional text editor. With our tool they can find the information they are looking for in seconds by using a hierarchical tree view that numbers and labels each field with their description (First Name, Last Name, Account Number etc). This is a huge benefit to developers because they no longer have to dig out the 8 chapter 1000+ page HL7 manual and look up the name of each field.
Feature List:
Communications
Ultimate HL7 has support for the TCP-MLLP protocol so it can emulate the functionality of another system for testing purposes. This allows the developer to send/resend messages at any time. That way they don't have to wait on someone else to trigger the messages. This allows the developer to test at his or her own pace. This functionality also allows for replaying of failed messages to quickly correct the problem.
